Some of the Primary 6 and 7 girls from St Boswells Primary school decided to do a fashion show with singing and dancing as a fundraiser for Arthurshiel Rescue Centre. The girls met everyday in St Boswells Church Hall for 2 weeks, they chose the music and made up their own dances, they designed and made a recycled outfit and a fancy outfit for the fashion show. The fashion show was held on Thursday 5th August and more than 40 people from the village came along and gave very generously. £140.72 was raised in total.

Performers were: Rowan Cunningham, Becky Farnish, Amy Campbell, Anna McGowan, Daisy Cunningham and Sophie Farnish. Helpers were Jemima Gulliver-Goodall, Emma Grieve and Fiona Jefford and they made posters and flyers and then handed them out around the village and welcomed people at the door. Mums: Sarah Gulliver-Goodall, Julia Cunningham and Angela Farnish helped out when needed and had a great time!

Shona Middlemass at Arthurshiel Rescue Centre said she would like the money to be spent on cat food and cat litter so the girls went to Asda and bought 3 full trolleys of food and litter which used up all the money! They then had a lovely visit to Arthurshiels on Friday 20th August and presented all the food to Shona and said hello to some of the lovely animals who live at the centre.”
