Hi Shona,
I was wondering if it was ok to submit a wee piece of writing with Chloe the Lurcher pup we got from you over a year and a half ago?
I wanted to let you know and others what a wonderful little girl she is. Chloe came to us at about 3 months old and was quite timid as she had been taken away from her litter mates. However within a few days she definitely came in to herself and starting showing her true character, exactly as you told us she would.
She has now grown in to a very well adjusted girl, and we love her more than anything.
She is fabulous with all dogs and cats and has played regularly with my neighbours
kitten. Chloe is not only a loveable family pet, but has also saved our whole family
from being in a house fire when she woke us up when the cooker nearly went on fire.
If it hadn’t been for Chloe, goodness knows what would've happened
Chloe has been so great infact that we have just recently decided to help with rescue greyhounds and she has proven to be an excellent foster sister and is teaching our Foster dog Belle that life outside her trainers kennel isn't anything to be scared off. Chloe is just so full of character and such a huge part oh our family, i cant imagine life without her.
Thank you so much for allowing us the opportunity to give this little girl a home, and to have her as a member of our family.
Thank you once again Shona for such a wonderful dog. Keep up the fantastic work you do.
Love from Lisa, Chloe and family xxxxx

Hello Shona and Tom
Do you remember 3½ years ago when you rescued me – I was all skin and bone – no fat, no muscle, hardly any hair and very smelly! I told you I needed a home with a great big soppy dog to look after tiny wee me. And when Roker, the golden retriever, arrived with his people, I knew that this was the family for me and jumped into the back of the car. They christened me Bertie.
I got lots of great food, lovely walks and am now the tough wee fellow in the picture. Unfortunately, Roker became ill a couple of years later and died, so I had full responsibility for looking after my people.
After about a year, I was getting lonely. This time, I thought it would be good for them to have a girl dog and you found a collie cross for us. We called her Gowan and I helped my people to look after her. She now has a beautiful coat and runs very fast. She has become my very best friend (even better than Roker) and we play together – real doggy growling, biting, rolling games – but we never hurt each other. There are only two problems – one is that she tries to stop me chasing sticks and the other is that she now eats all her food and won’t let me have any!
Thank you from Gowan and me for finding us a lovely home with each other and our people – we love them too!
Love from Bertie

I thought you'd like to hear how Monty is getting on. He has been with us for over a year now (since December 05) and is a wonderful, happy dog, and we adore him.
Monty had a bit of a trauma last November when he ran into a snare, but he wasn't far away from me and sensibly made a lot of noise about it so I found him quickly, and he soon made a full recovery. I gave our details to animal welfare organisations campaigning against snaring, and so he was used as a case study while the Executive consultation on whether to ban snaring was ongoing, and he had his story told on Sky News and in the Sunday Mail. I think he rather enjoyed the attention.
He settled in very nicely and put on weight to become a big strong, handsome boy. He learned recall very well, and so gets lots of long runs off lead, including days out on the hills with my son and I, as we are keen hill walkers. He gets on great with my son Sam, and was very fond of our terrier, Pippin. Sadly, Pippin died of cancer last summer. She went very quickly and we all missed her terribly, including Monty. He started to go downhill, and was losing weight again, so we found a new friend for him - a little working type Springer pup called Meg. Monty and Meg absolutely adore each other and are great together, (except I have to keep on top of the training, otherwise they start to get naughty and run off together!).
Other than that he has stayed healthy and well, and is just a great family dog. We feel like he has always been with us, and are so very glad that we found him, and that you let us re home him. I reckon he is very glad too

very well behaved! She is almost 2 now and we have just got another puppy who she
took to straight away as well, she's so friendly couldn't ask for a better dog we
have been so lucky. Thanks Shona!!

We got Gem from Arthurshiel about 18 months ago and have never regretted one day
of this time, she is the perfect pet, just loves jumping into the river, enjoys attention
from everyone, has even made friends with a cat called Chester. I have sent a recent
photo to remind you of which dog we refer to.
Keep up the good work, we keep watching your website.
Chris and Val.

Just wanted to let you know how Pip was getting on and send you some pictures. Feel
free to use them for the success stories part of your website if you like.
When we
first got Pip she was a timid wee thing. She hid from anything and everything. Now
we have a hard time taking her out because she is determined to say hello to every
dog as well as every person.
We were staying in Walkerburn with Pip at first and she
loved going for big walks in the field next to our house or along by the tweed. We
are now living in edinburgh opposite a huge Park and she loves it. There are so many
dogs to play with. She also likes visiting my dad because he lives right next to
the beach and she gets to go for a swim in the sea.
She has definitely changed a
lot since we first took her home. She is happy and healthy and you should see her
scoff her food down.
Right now we are decorating our new home and her curiosity means
she is now covered in paint of all colours. Good thing she doesn't mind getting a
bath.
She is going back down to the borders soon to meet my mums new dog and I'm
sure it will be very exciting for her.
Thank you very much for a lovely wee girl.
She is fantastic and we couldn't have asked for a cuter or more loyal dog.
